Quyen Tran

Director of Impact Investing

Quyen Tran is the Director of Impact Investing at BlackRock and Head of Fundamental Equities Sustainable Investing Research. Her research creates BlackRock’s core criteria for impact investing across asset classes and best practices in impact measurement. She develops the concepts and leads the authorship of foundational publications, making the case for impact in public equities, the case for outperformance, and the role of impact investing in an asset allocation strategy.

Quyen partners with academia and industry practitioners to advance the sustainable investing ecosystem. She has been appointed Professor of the Practice of Impact Investing at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, is a member of Harvard Business School’s Alumni for Impact Initiative, and is a Board Advisor for Bentley University’s Sustainable Investment Group. Quyen has served on working groups at the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) and Impact Management Project (IMP) and is a frequent speaker at industry events, including global forums at Milken Institute, Responsible Investor, the Global Steering Group, Harvard Social Enterprise Conference, and the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit. In a former role at Cambridge Associates, Quyen served as a senior investment consultant advising endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions on investment strategy.

Quyen earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BA, cum laude, in philosophy from Mount Holyoke College where she was awarded the J.M. Warbeke Prize in Philosophy. She studied philosophy abroad at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India. On a volunteer basis, Quyen taught English as a classroom teacher in Vietnam and worked for the advancement of grade-school children in the US.
