Over 75% of Pacific Islanders do not have access to electrification. Village Infrastructure Angels (VIA) works on last-mile electrical solutions to provide basic energy services to unelectrified communities in developing countries. Energy access boosts health, educations and livelihood prospects; and the latter is where VIA has produced some compelling results. VIA was involved in the rollout of the worlds’ first range of diverse solar powered mills for farmers, that reduce manual labour for women and add value to crops; as well as reducing the need for import substitution. The mobilization of additional capital is imperative to power remote communities across the Pacific Islands. Gavin joins the Impact Investor Global Summit to discuss his experiences in the Pacific and highlight upcoming opportunities.
