Susheela Peres da Costa 

Principal – The Stewardship Centre

Susheela is Principal at the Stewardship Centre and Sustainable Markets consultant to the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation.  She has advised institutional investors on responsible investment governance, strategy, and implementation since 2006, during which time she led Regnan’s stewardship program and served as chair / deputy chair of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia.

Susheela has driven several developments in the industry’s effectiveness, including Active Ownership 2.0 for the Principles for Responsible Investment; and Definitions in Responsible Investment for the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance.  Her clients have also included some of the world’s most influential banks, pension funds, wealth advisers and asset managers.  

She serves on the investment committee of The Reichstein Foundation and on the boards of Beyond Zero Emissions (Australia), The Shareholder Commons (USA), the Nature Conservation Council (NSW).
