Peter Ball

Peter is the founder and Managing Director of the ‘Greater Outcomes’ group of companies, established to create the ideal environment for social enterprise and impact investment to thrive.

This collective group structure includes Impact Academy, launched in 2014 specifically to support early stage impact ventures and has nurtured over 100 high-growth impact ventures to start, sustain and scale; Greater Outcomes as a corporate advisory business to support the growing demands from alumni and other impact businesses, predominantly around investment, expansion, governance and growth; and an impact capital firm working closely with the broad band of impact investors to design and deliver aligned investment prospects through tailored funding structures.

Peter’s earlier career included various senior roles within the investment, banking, corporate finance and private wealth management industries. This provided a strong foundation of technical knowledge and numerous opportunities to be involved with the development of new products and the establishment of new teams. Since 2007, Peter has dedicated his energies to achieving similar outcomes with a focus on always achieving blended value returns including economic, social and environmental outcomes.

Recent experience includes the design, development and distribution of impact investment products (debt and equity) and social finance models. Operating within this rapidly emerging field has meant working closely with the multiple levels of government, global corporate entities, non-profit organisations, large academic institutions, peak bodies and industry associations. Peter acts in the capacity of director, mentor and advisor for a growing number of leading impact ventures and has spoken internationally on the subject of starting and scaling impact ventures.
